This song is about all of the women (and minorities) who have been slaughtered by pointlessly violent and repressive cultural norms throughout history. It's about our culture overcoming the need to shame women for their bodies, desires and sexuality. It's about not taking their power/free will by force or coercion. It's about women existing in this world without fear, and with the ability to bloom where they are planted. It's about not having to run away from cultural norms that seek to oppress and maim just because of the type of body you were born into. It's about the veil finally being lifted so that women can exist in their own skin without having to apologize for their existence.
